Third Portuguese edition of the ChocolatFestival brings national and international stars to WOW, from October 24th to27th. The event will have talks, showcooking, kidscooking, business and manytasting opportunities. Entry is free.
The Chocolat Festival Portugal 2024 arrivesin October with the aim of breaking records. After receiving more than 50thousand people last year, the event wants to expand the brand and increase thenumber of visitors and closed deals.
The festival program is full of information, with lectures on the cocoaand chocolate sector, workshops, themed showcooking, kidscooking for children'sentertainment, chocolate sculptures and many tastings.
The event takes place between the 24th and 27th of October, at WOW, inVila Nova de Gaia, and entry is free. The Chocolat Festival is in its 40thedition, since its creation in 2009, and is the largest cocoa and chocolatefestival in Latin America. It takes place for the third consecutive year inPortugal.
The experience
Entry to the festival takes place through a sensory tunnel thatsimulates a cocoa plantation. Throughout the event, chef Leo Vilella will becarving an incredible chocolate sculpture from over 200kg of pure chocolate.
Great chefs will teach either salty and sweet recipes with cocoa andchocolate. The Portuguese Helder Fernandes, from WOW, will reveal the recipefor a meringues called “Chocolate & Avelã”. Brazilian Mirna Gomes, chef atPalacete Severo, in Porto, will share a mushroom sauce with chocolate. NatachaFink, from the Amazonian restaurant Palaphita, in Cascais, promises a recipewith chocolate and Port wine. While Carolina Sales, owner of the trendy café inOeiras that bears her name, will share some secrets of her famous brigadeiros.A great revelation of Argentine confectionery, chef Mariana Corbetta willpresent the recipe for her popular alfajores at the festival.
Lectures and business
In the lectures, national andinternational experts will talk about chocolate and cocoa.
Among them, the Portuguese PedroAraújo, creator of the museum The Chocolat Story, and Fábia Ribeiro, from theVinte Vinte brand, the Costa Rican Maria Jimenez, the British Spencer Hyman,the French Vincent Ferreira and Chloé Doutre and the Spanish Raquel GonzalezSetién, co- founder of Kaitxo.
At the chocolate fair, the worldwill be represented by brands from Brazil, Portugal, France, Ecuador, Italy,Spain, Japan, Madagascar, Belgium, São Tomé and Príncipe, among others.
Schedules
The event opens its doors on October24th, from 6pm to 10pm. On the following three days, the event takes place from2pm to 10pm.
The Chocolat Festival is organizedby MVU Eventos and Casa Brasiliana, in partnership with the Government of theState of Pará, Government of the State of Bahia and WOW.
